Together We Rise: Press Release

The Simply Branded team encourages all its blog readers to join Simply Branded and contribute to the cause of the organization, Together We Rise.  Together We Rise focuses on improving the experience that children face when living in the foster care system. Currently, Together We Rise is partnering with Dubsado, a company that is helping assemble skateboards for children in foster care.

The Foster Care System

According to an official report that the Children’s Bureau has provided, in 2017 there were more than 437,000 children in foster care in the United States. Each year, this number increases.

If you Google, “what is it like living in foster care,” you’ll find a lot of the same stories. For instance, there are stories about hopping from foster home to foster home. There are many stories of children not focusing on their education or other needs. Children live hectic lifestyles in these broken and temporary homes.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation explains how a child ends up in foster care. In general, parents have their children taken away due to a certain reason. To leave foster care, a parent can either get back on track, a relative can take the child, or they can get adopted.

Together We Rise

Together We Rise is dedicated to improving the lives of children in the foster care system. In 2008, Danny Mendoza founded the organization. He realized that his nine-year-old cousin was living in a car. Unfortunately, Danny was not twenty one and could not help his cousin the way he wanted. After that, Danny wanted to do something to help children in the foster care system.
